Solaglas is a wholly-owned subsidiary of the worldwide Saint-Gobain Group. The company is the largest processor, distributor, installer and repairer of glass and glass systems in the UK.
Formed in 1982 following the merger of two long-established glass companies, Clark Eaton and Doulton Glass, Solaglas became part of the Saint-Gobain Group in 1990, enabling it to draw on the vast global resources of the world’s leader in building products.
With over 140 years of expertise in glass and glazing – and with a turnover in excess of £150 million – Solaglas employs around 1,500 people in the UK and is organised into four primary operating divisions.
Solaglas has a nationwide business network supported by a divisional infrastructure. The company is organised into four divisions, based on activity and market. There are over 30 local businesses which are regionally responsive and structured to meet the demands of the local market.

These priorities ensure that Solaglas continues to deliver industry-leading products and services to glass processors, window manufacturers, major contractors and architects throughout the United Kingdom.
The Group

The Glass Division of Saint-Gobain includes Saint-Gobain Glass, Europe’s leading flat glass manufacturer. Our Glass Division maintains both manufacturing and processing sites sharing best practises, expertise, and a European supply chain. This provides far greater buying power and a much broader product range for Solaglas customers.
Saint-Gobain Glass UK is Solaglas’ sister company, with an award-winning Flat Glass manufacturing and coating facility in North Yorkshire.
